Stylish New Finish for Bowers & Wilkins CM1
Bowers & Wilkins is pleased to announce the release of its classic CM1 Mini Monitor loudspeaker in a stunning new Gloss White finish.
This new option provides discerning customers with a contemporary new colour choice, with the smallest model in the refined CM Series otherwise retaining its famed and award winning sound quality and technology.
The CM1, winner of the Europe’s prestigious EISA award for Best Loudspeaker in 2007, is a two-way bookshelf speaker designed to provide high-quality sound, even when space is limited. It features a 25mm aluminium dome tube-loaded tweeter and trademark 130mm Kevlar® bass/midrange driver. It is designed for bookshelf placement or may be mounted on the matching FS700 floor stand ($599/pr). It is ideal for 2-channel stereo use or may be partnered with other models in the CM Series in the front or surround channel positions in a multi-channel music system.
The CM1, along with the rest of the award winning CM Series, benefits from longer voice coils and larger magnets, which provides the speakers with more punch and attack, while cutting down on distortion. This ensures that while the CM Series is certainly one of the most elegant speaker ranges around, it’s also the best sounding.
Bower & Wilkins designs and builds its own drive units and cabinets, which results in both elements of the speaker designed to work perfectly together. This allowed the engineers at the famous Bowers & Wilkins Research Department in Steyning, West Sussex to design the CM1 with a first order crossover, the simplest and purest form of crossover network.
The engineers at Bowers & Wilkins spend many hours of listening time rigorously auditioning various components and selecting the ones that provide the exceptional sound quality which has won the CM Series many fans around the world.
As well as the new Gloss White finish, the CM1 is also available in Gloss Black, and also Rosenut and Wenge real wood veneers. The rest of the models in the CM Series, including the EISA Award winning CM9, are available in Gloss Black, Rosenut and Wengé.
The CM1 White will be available from December 2009, with recommended retail pricing of $1,499/ pr.
